"Every human being is called to solidarity in a world battling between life and death" - Ignacio Ellacuria, Jesuit martyr in El Salvador
Over thirty people, plus a family of six - not pictured - who arrived at the end.
AND mostly a good response from passers-by. It's a great intersection for a pro-life demonstration and channel 12 cablevision had some afternoon coverage, including a brief quote from Judy Anderson, a co-director of HVCL. The abortion mill was not open that day.
Join us in White Plains for the Rally for Life on Wednesday, January 22, at the All Women's "Health" and Medical Services, 222 Mamaroneck Avenue, White Plains, New York.
This will be an hour of prayer and public witness on this 41st Anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade decision to remember the young lives lost since 1973 to legal abortion on demand.
Co-sponsored by the Right to Life Coalition of Lower Westchester, Westchester & Putnam Right to Life Committee & People for Life, Hudson Valley Coalition for Life, No. Westchester & Putnam Center for Life, Advocates of Life.
(Directions: Cross Westchester Expressway to exit 6; go south on North Broadway. Follow North Broadway into White Plains; it becomes South Broadway. Look for right turn onto Maple Avenue. Follow to corner of Maple and Mamaroneck)
This annual Rally at the White Plains abortion mill off Mamroneck Ave. and the Post Rd., coincides with the Roe vs. Wade abomination, and the March for Life in Washington. It is well-attended, and sometimes gets press coverage. Here is last year's Rally.
This year the morning started in near blizzard conditions, keeping the number of people who attended to an even dozen.
Among them, Fr. Fidelis Moscinski, CFR, who has returned to New York, after nine years in Europe (England, five years, Rome for studies, two years, and Derry, Northern Ireland for two years). It is a great blessing to have Fr. Fidelis - an extraordinary prolifer, back with us.
Here Fr., in the center, is speaking with Judy Anderson, with Brother Mark Mary at his side, and Brigid Faranda in the background.
Blizzard conditions!
The weather improved as the Rally progressed
Fr. Fidelis led a final prayer (the audio improves after a few seconds)
The Rally, from noon to 1PM, had over 80 participants, and attracted coverage from channel 12 as well as The Journal News. With the abortion mill at the intersection of Mamaroneck and Maple Avenues in White Plains, all four corners were covered with people and signs.
Cablevision's channel 12 online is only available to subscribers. But here is a transcript of HVCL co-director Judith Anderson's comments (shown every half hour all Saturday afternoon and night!) on the all-news channel 12:
"Abortion has been a disaster for women. It has been a disaster for families and for society as a whole. And I think the tide is turning. Women are beginning after almost 40 years of abortion to see the price that they have to pay in their own personal lives ..."
