We rarely post prayer requests - if we did, it would overwhelm the site! But we are making an exception for these two people.
Joan (needs no introduction) had surgery several weeks ago and is "on the road to recovery."
Dan Brusstar in the 90's was co-head of BORN (Bi-state Operation Rescue Network) - he and his family have made huge sacrifices over the years for the prolife cause. Dan has had serious health issues for several years with multiple surgeries.
This from an email we received over the weekend. Only initials (or jail nicknames!) for names, except Dan & Joan.
Dan Brusstar had major surgery today that could have killed him (so the surgeons warned Quarry), but didn't. Here is L W's report about it, indented:
All done. Dan's vital signs are good and he is in recovery. Took about six hours. Kathy said it was a scary pre-op. The plastic surgeon had to move skin from the stomach area to cover the wound opening, the urologist had to put a stint in and the main surgeon took out the intestines. He has a long recovery ahead of him. They will have to monitor his pain and keep a close eye on infection. He weighs 121 pounds, but he made it through. Thank you all for praying. It is a great relief that he's alive! Thank God.
Know B C's bride had comparable surgery, & didn't long survive lost intestines: may it prove otherwise with our great friend & comrade, sustained by our prayers. Joan too having a slow & one fears likely painful recovery from serious surgery a couple weeks past.
So midst our afflictions, blessings to be recalled, not least that we've granted the high privilege of living in era graced by Awesome & Joan.
