Will pro-lifers in NYC and suburbs finally see our very own 4D life-saving ultrasound machines in operation?   Well that depends on you, and me, and, on June 9th, I hope you will help us make that happen!   "Focus on the Family" which showed 4D ultrasound in Times Square earlier this month neither operates ultrasound machines in NYC nor finances our efforts to do so.   The future of many children are literally in our hands.   EMC has operated ultrasound units since 1986, including 3D units some years ago in NYC.   Our current equipment is now 10 years old and we literally provide thousands of pregnant girls and women in NYC with critical life saving sonogram services, but we must replace our equipment with top-of-the-line great image making units, now.   Many women in NYC and suburbs never see a sonogram or speak to a trained pro-life counselor, or pro-life nurse, before their final abortion decision. As you know, NYC has the highest abortion rates in America.   Mothers with unexpected pregnancies need good compassionate pro-life counseling, and quality testing, evaluations and practical, emotional and spiritual support. And a great ultrasound.   So many lives could be saved, if we can succeed with our June 9th fundraiser to replace our NYC equipment and add a new unit in Westchester County.   Please come up to Rye, NY as a single or a couple or help pull together a table of 10, for a very special evening of amazing inspiration from Melissa Ohden, and enjoy cocktails, music, dinner and dancing on Sunday, June 9th in Rye, NY from 3PM-7PM.  There is no fixed ticket price. Free will offerings will be taken.   Meet and hear testimony from a very unique lady, Melissa Ohden, who survived being actually aborted by her own mother.    See videos and testimony to the power of effective ultrasound use. Let us think big. Let's think 4D. Let's imagine lots of babies saved, and how happy mothers can be when supported with people who can be with them through a tough pregnancy, in centers in the South Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Westchester.

Great statement from pro-life rally @ PA. Planned Parenthood - Racism!?

The Rally of course was a response - over 1,000 people - to the fanatic Pennsylvania State Legislator Sims and his attack on pro-life free speech (this link takes you to a five minute interview with Ashley Garecht, the mother of the three teenage girls attacked verbally by Sims and is well worth watching) several days earlier.

Focus on the Family's "Highlight Reel" from Alive in New York

This under five minute video definitely catches the spirit of the event. The two speakers are Alveda King, the niece of Martin Luther King Jr., and Ben Watson, former tight end with the New Orleans Saints. Alive in New York was put together by Focus on the Family.

"Alive from New York". Something for every right to lifer, including a bomb scare.

Huge success. Had to be 2,500 - 3,000 people in total, coming and going at the event from 2:30-4:30 this past Saturday. And tens of thousands of NY'ers and tourists passing by would have seen what was going on. The event stretched from 42nd St. up Broadway to 47th st.  WPIX channel 11 did have some (60-90 seconds) coverage. There were perhaps 350 pro-abortion supporters there with the usual drums and whistles. Some pictures of them at the end of this posting NO, changed our minds - why ruin this posting with their vile stuff? Also, around 4 o'clock the police evacuated the middle assembly 45-46 St. of close to a thousand people when a suspicious backpack was found right after the pro-abortion parade up the sidewalk had gone past that spot. The backpack was later found to be safe - picture at the end of this posting. This was right at the time the 4D sonogram images were being shown (see the video below the pictures) and that 45th St. screen had to be shut down.

Study "23 Million Females are Missing Due to Sex-Selective Abortion"

A recent study, reviewed by Stefano Gennarini on the C-Fam website.

NEW YORK, May 3 (C-Fam) Sex-selective abortion has caused the premature death of over 23 million females, according to the first-ever systematic global study of sex ratio imbalance. Demographers have noted the phenomenon of skewed sex ratios for decades. Millions of females are missing because of sex-selective abortion. This has led to increased trafficking in children and women. It has also led to increased rates of suicide, depression, and substance abuse among unmarried men. But the global scale of the phenomenon and how many girls exactly have been aborted has relied on uncertain estimates.

The natural sex ratio around the globe, with few variations due to genetics and geography, is around 1.05, or about 100 women to every 105 men. But the sex ratio at birth in many countries is in some cases dramatically skewed.

It is difficult to estimate the global impact of sex-selective abortion because abortions, and sometimes even births, are not always accurately tracked. The new study devised a statistical model for predicting the total impact of sex-selective abortion in countries that have a skewed sex ratio.

The authors found 23 million baby girls are missing globally as a “direct consequence of sex-selective abortion, driven by the coexistence of son preference, readily available technology of prenatal sex determination, and fertility decline.”

Most of these girls were aborted in mainland China, where 11.9 million girls are missing, and in India, where 10.6 million are missing. But according to the study’s authors the absence of females is also statistically strong in other countries, most of which are in Asia and Eastern Europe.

The authors cite son preference and the availability of prenatal sex diagnosis, combined with the accessibility of sex-selective abortion, as the main drivers of the skewed ratios.
