UPDATE: Note the correction in the comments section as to the number of attendees!
It was an impressive turnout of over 125 people for the Autumn Harvest Breakfast at the River View in Hastings-on-Hudson on Saturday, September 24! Alan Mehldau once again brought us a PAC fundraiser that was high on style and positive networking with pro-life friends and organizations here to help support pro-life values and candidates.
Rev. Msgr. Dermot R. Brennan, stalwart for life, offered the Invocation.
Phil Oliva, pro-life candidate running for the U.S. House of Representatives gave a rousing welcome to all and touched the audience with his personal story of his family's pro-life struggle through his wife's crisis pregnancy and daughter's birth.
Deputy County Executive Kevin Plunkett spoke on behalf of County Executive Rob Astorino as he presented Proclamations to the day's so-worthy honorees, Patricia Godfrey of New Rochelle and John Mark of Ossining, and keynote speaker Reverend Jason J. McGuire.
Kevin Byrne is running for the Katz seat in the 94th Assembly District with great support.
Joy Dechiario introduces John Mark, retired New York City fireman who spoke of his transforming journey to his dedication to many pro-life causes. He especially thanked his wife and mother for their love and support so he could be present for others in need.
Patricia Godfrey, whose soft-spoken style and years of dedication to women in crisis pregnancies and the child in the womb prompted her well-deserved award.
The Reverend Jason J. McGuire, Executive Director of New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms, gave the stirring keynote address. He had spoken at the 2013 breakfast and he was excellent then - and even better this time around! Much of this talk centered around the sad but inspirational circumstances he and his wife faced with their fourth child. After physicians suggested an abortion as "therapy", his daughter was born with only two heart chambers. And they could not operate to repair because of another health-related syndrome. The child died four days after leaving the hospital, surrounded at home by her loving family.
The title of Reverend McGuire's talk was "Staying True in a Blue State."
Statue of St. Michael the Archangel presented to Reverend Jason, John and Pat.
Looking good! It's great to be a senior. Thanks to Alan Mehldau and Joy Dechiario for another outstanding event for life - thanks to Maryl Turchi for the great photo of Alan and Joy.
God's blessings to all. Now go and get out the pro-life vote!
I believe there were more than 125 in attendance.
There were 20 tables with about 10 people at each, for a total of 200,approximately.

Wow. We're sure you are right. We hate to overestimate crowds but no sense underestimating either.
