Officer Garrett Swasey, who was also co-pastor at a local Church, had signed the Colorado Personhood initiative.
From Personhood USA:
Officer Swasey was a Pro-life Hero
A family man with two young children, Officer Swasey was a co-pastor at his church in Colorado Springs. Fellow pastor Scott Dontanville was quoted by the New York Times as saying Swasey disagreed with abortion.
Hearing that Officer Swasey was pro-life led us to recall that our Colorado Personhood initiative had collected signatures at his church, and sure enough, his signature is on one of our personhood amendment petitions.
Planned Parenthood has long expressed their dislike for Personhood and our supporters. They have targeted our Personhood efforts for years, essentially using our own tax dollars to defeat our amendments. We’ve been told Officer Swasey did not agree with Planned Parenthood - in fact, by all accounts he stood for Christ, and for protecting unborn children, both of which are the antithesis of Planned Parenthood.
As Planned Parenthood is busy spinning this as an anti-abortion shooting (although no motive has been revealed), and accusing the pro-life community here in Colorado of contributing to a hostile environment, I’d like to take a few moments just to think of Officer Swasey. Please pray with me as we are thankful for Officer Swasey’s bravery, and pray for his wife and children. Please join me in being thankful for Officer Swasey’s willingness to defend ALL human life, and in praying for the families of every victim, born or unborn, who was killed in or near that Planned Parenthood facility on Friday.
Please consider donating to Officer Garrett Swasey's Memorial Fund to benefit his wife, Rachel, and his two young children.
May the soul of Officer Swasey rest in peace. Amen.
