Activists push back on N.Y. abortion bill
“If the governor was serious about women’s issues, ... if the pro-abortion women’s organizations were serious about women’s issues, they would really just say: ‘Alright, there aren’t the votes to pass this thing. Let’s move on to the other issues,’” said Jason McGuire, executive director of New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms, a conservative group with Christian leadership based in Monroe County. “But they’re not. This is really all about abortion expansion, and we’re going to see that it’s blocked.”

Jann Armantrout, a Catholic administrator with the Diocese of Rochester, joined the protesters. She said the state should not codify the 1973 Supreme Court decision Roe v. Wade without enacting other federal abortion regulations that have resulted from court battles since.
“We know lots more about fetal development, a lot more about the long-term and short-range effects of abortion on women and the corrosive effects of abortion on society at large,” she said.
Lisa Stiller, 63, of White Plains, said she opposes the bill language that would allow for late-term abortion when a woman’s health is in danger.
“Mother’s life and health has come to mean things like their mental health, so that definition has become so broad and so uncertain,” she said.
Andrew Humphreys, 47, Hopewell Junction, Dutchess County, said New York should follow other states’ lead and roll back abortion rights rather than strengthening them.
Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow that this dangerous and money making second and third trimester killing will not happen this year in the state of New York!
