High Energy Youth and Record Numbers Mark 40th March for Life in D.C.

The frigid temperatures didn't phase pilgrims, young or old, to the January 25th March for Life in Washington, D.C. This, the 40th year since the Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion on demand in America.

The March for Life theme: 40=55M - forty years equals 55 million unborn deaths - a tragic statistic that doesn't offend a good portion of our citizenry, so embeded in our culture is abortion's violence against children. Every life is of infinite worth. While everyone jumps on national gun control as a solution to the terribly tragic 26 deaths in Connecticut, our increasingly violence-saturated society gives us 55 million dead children in the womb since Roe. Our acceptance of immoral "choices"; voters content to view foundational and Constitutional issues facing our country in increasingly superficial ways; and a majority of the media so lacking in curiosity or concern about abortion's ugly realities that America's cherished "Fourth Estate" seems little more than a quaint memory and American ideal fading fast.

Here are the stalwart travelers from our Hudson Valley Coalition for Life and Holy Name of Mary bus that included attendees from St. Teresa of Avila in Sleepy Hollow, Ossining, and Scarborough. The weather kept about twelve home who had booked passage, and we hope to see them next year!

“Most Americans want some restrictions on abortion,” Ms. Monahan said. “We see abortion as the human rights abuse of today.”

Speaker John A. Boehner of Ohio, who spoke via a recorded video, called on the protest group, particularly the young people, to make abortion “a relic of the past.”

“Human life is not an economic or political commodity, and no government on earth has the right to treat it that way,” he said.

The crowd was dotted with large banners, many bearing the names of the attendees’ home states and churches and colleges. Gary Storey, 36, stood holding a handmade sign that read “I was adopted. Thanks Mom for my life.” Next to him stood his adoptive mother, Ellen Storey, 66, who held her own handmade sign with a picture of her six children and the words “To the mothers of our four adopted children, ‘Thank You’ for their lives.”

Mr. Storey said he was grateful for the decision by his biological mother to carry through with her pregnancy. “Beats the alternative,” he joked.

Salon, the very left wing online publication, with in-your-face support for baby killing.

Here’s the complicated reality in which we live: All life is not equal. That’s a difficult thing for liberals like me to talk about, lest we wind up looking like death-panel-loving, kill-your-grandma-and-your-precious-baby storm troopers. Yet a fetus can be a human life without having the same rights as the woman in whose body it resides. She’s the boss. Her life and what is right for her circumstances and her health should automatically trump the rights of the non-autonomous entity inside of her. Always.

The article goes on, with links to some factually inaccurate stuff, and colossal disparagement for all of us "diabolically clever" (the author must believe in the devil...) members of the "anti-choice lobby"... "wingnuts" ... "right-wingers" .... The author strikes just the right tone for her effete readership.

Here's the last line of the essay:

Massive pro-life rally in Ireland

Over 30,000 in Dublin.

The crowd heard from leaders of the pro-life movement as well as from Mickey Harte, one of Ireland’s best-loved sporting heroes, and Bernadette Goulding of Women Hurt, who spoke of the devastation she suffered due to an abortion many years ago.

The first speaker was Family & Life’s David Manly, who warned that careless talk costs lives and that abortion advocates seek to dehumanise the unborn by the manipulation of language. Caroline Simons, from the Pro Life Campaign, told the crowd that the experts who testified at the Health Committee hearings had "completely demolished" the government's argument for legislating for the X Case. "The psychiatrists who addressed the hearings were unanimous that abortion is not a treatment for suicidal ideation," she said. "If the Government legislates for abortion on the basis of the X case, this legislation would cure no woman of suicidal ideation, but it would put some women's lives at risk."

Slaughtering Innocents for 40 Years

Hundreds of thousands of citizens, mostly young, will gather in D.C. at Noon on Friday, January 25, to draw attention to this nation’s most shameful of generational legacies – the massive targeting of and slaughtering of innocents in the womb through abortion.

This year’s witness on the 40thth anniversary of Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion will challenge our highest Court, the Congress, our citizens, and America’s most pro-abortion President, Barack Obama, just days after his second inaugural address. 

Two generations have grown up thinking that the intentional killing of children in the womb is an acceptable solution to an unintended pregnancy, and one with no personal or societal consequences. Yet we look at society today and are shocked to see an increasingly sick and violent culture aimed directly at its children. As we rightly grieve over the massacre of twenty seven-year-olds in Connecticut, we refuse to connect the 55 million children that have been killed in the womb through the violence of abortion. No guns here, only fetal children burned with saline, surgically dismembered, or chemically poisoned by the thousands daily.

Adults and students from the Westchester/Putnam area will join Americans from across the nation. “We are going to remind President Obama who is begging for an end to gun violence that we should not be paying for or promoting the violence of abortion in any new “health” plan. We want taxpayer funding of abortion ended,” states Hudson Valley Coalition for Life spokeswoman Brigid Faranda. “Planned Parenthood is the biggest abortion provider in our country, with over 300,000 performed on children in the womb each year. Polls indicate that the majority of Americans are in agreement with pro-life solutions and basic safeguards for women,” said Mrs. Faranda. “We will not tolerate the violence against our children or the further breakdown of our society.”

Abortion Group NARAL Picks Left-Wing Activist as New President

The abortion advocacy group NARAL has selected a left-wing activists to take the place of Nancy Keenan, who quit her position as its president citing the fact that she is older and the organizations needs an infusion of younger leaders.

Ilyse Hogue has been chosen to succeed Keenan as president of the organization, but she doesn’t solve the group’s problems in terms of its inability to connect with millenials. Hougue is not part of the post-Roe generations and was born two years before the Supreme Court handed down Roe v. Wade, that allowed virtually unlimited abortions throughout pregnancy for any reason.

Deaf twins who discovered they were going blind and would never see each other again are euthanized in Belgian hospital

Belgium was the second country in the world after the Netherlands to legalise euthanasia in 2002 but it currently applies only to people over the age of 18.

Other jurisdictions where it is permitted include Luxembourg and the U.S. state of Oregon.

Just days after the twins were killed Belgium's ruling Socialists tabled a legal amendment which would allow the euthanasia of children and Alzheimer's sufferers.

The draft legislation calls for 'the law to be extended to minors if they are capable of discernment or affected by an incurable illness or suffering that we cannot alleviate.'

The proposed changes are likely to be approved by other parties, although no date has yet been put forward for a parliamentary debate.

Planned Parenthood has record year performing abortions; other "services" decline.

In its latest annual report for fiscal year 2011 to 2012, Planned Parenthood reveals that it performed 333,964 abortions in 2011 – a record year for the organization.

Meanwhile -

Contraceptive services at Planned Parenthood have dropped by 12 percent since 2009, and cancer screening & prevention services have dropped by 29 percent.

Of course their "cancer screening services" are farcical anyway, which is one of the two reasons the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation wanted to stop funding PP (the other being that their relationship with PP was hurting Komen's fundraising).

Regular readers will recall that Westchester County Legislator Judith Myers is so in the tank for PP, that she claimed publicly on several occasions (and we have audio and video, for example here at the end of this Lohud Forum on suppressing pro-life free speech) to have had a mammogram at PP; a service they have NEVER provided.
