New Yorker's Family Research Foundation (NYFRF) at www.nyfrf.org reminds us why we celebrate Dads and, especially this weekend, Moms:
We would never dream of referring to Mother's Day as "Parent 1" or "Parent 2" Day, but in essence that is what President Barack Obama has told an entire nation.
For the first time in American history a sitting president has endorsed same-sex "marriage". Earlier this week, in an interview with ABC News, President Obama stated he affirms the right of same-gender couples to enter marital relationships.
New Yorker's Family Research Foundation (NYFRF) reaffirms its conviction that both mothers and fathers are important to a child's upbringing. NYFRF believes that state and national policies in regard to the definition of marriage should reflect this truth.
Rev. Jason J. McGuire, President, NYFRF, said, "Same-sex relationships ignore the reality that children do best when raised by their biological mother and father. President Obama has chosen to ignore thousands of years of history, religion, culture and social science research in his support for same-sex nuptials."
"Each parent, mom and dad, provides something unique, first to the conception, and later to the rearing of a child. Same-sex relationships always, by design, deny children either a mother or a father," continued McGuire.
McGuire concluded by saying, "Moms matter. Fathers and mothers are both vitally important to the future of a strong and stable nation. As a nation pauses to celebrate the unique contribution that moms make to their children's lives, it is my hope that a nation will reclaim this truth."
Happy Mother's Day, MOMS, from LifeNet! All of you are in our prayers, especially those post-abortive Moms who we remember most especially on this day.
