Catholic New York is the Archdiocese newspaper.
Dr. Anne Mielnik, founder and director of Gianna: The Catholic Healthcare Center for Women in Manhattan.
Infertility and NaProTechnology
... doctors have developed an alternative to IVF that is as effective as IVF, does not create or destroy embryos, allows a married couple to conceive naturally, and is completely in line with the teachings of the Catholic Church. The approach is called NaProTechnology (NPT), which stands for Natural Procreative Technology. It is based on more than 40 years of scientific research, and it can help up to 70 percent of infertile couples to conceive, depending on the cause of their infertility.
In the NPT approach, doctors work to identify all of the correctable factors that might be keeping a couple from conceiving. Subtle hormonal abnormalities and abnormal patterns of ovulation, which are often missed on the standard infertility evaluation, are identified and corrected using medications that restore health and function to the woman's reproductive cycle. Anatomic abnormalities such as damaged fallopian tubes and endometriosis are corrected by using special surgical techniques. NaProTechnology thus provides an effective, ethical alternative to IVF for couples struggling with infertility, in a way that is in keeping with the teachings of the Catholic Church and is consistent with the values of many couples.

Despite efforts to address this imbalance, Indian society continues to prefer boys to girls, he said. And this leads to numerous abortions of girls. In Hindu religious practice, a son often has the responsibility of performing the last rites for family members. While sons inherit family wealth, girls are considered a burden as they need to be married off with dowries.

From the hyper pro-abortion NY Times
Dr. William Harrison, Defender of Abortion Rights, Dies at 75
Dr. Harrison went on to perform 20,000 or so abortions over three decades, ...
In essays, articles and interviews he castigated abortion-rights opponents as “right-wing crazies.” They responded just as fervently, calling him a murderer, particularly after he gained wide attention for offering free abortions to survivors of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
>>>>
Dr. Harrison readily admitted that he destroyed life, but denied that he killed babies. His view was that an embryo was far from being a human being with a brain. The higher moral value to Dr. Harrison was salvaging the future of an often disadvantaged girl or woman.
But he drew a line at performing abortions in the third trimester of pregnancy, partly, he said, because they made him uncomfortable ...
"they made him uncomfortable"
... and partly because he felt he lacked the expertise. He sent those who wanted one to his friend Dr. George Tiller in Wichita, Kan., an expert surgeon who was assassinated in his church by an anti-abortion zealot in 2009. Dr. Harrison often gave those patients money for gasoline for the trip to Wichita.

Subject: RE: Pondering the election resultsYesterday's New York State primaries yielded some interesting results, not the least of which is that the major Republican nominations are now held by pro-lifers:1. Governor's RaceCarl Paladino, the pro-life "Tea Party" candidate, crushed the establishment GOP candidate, Rick Lazio. Paladino will oppose pro-abortion and pro-same-sex "marriage" Andrew Cuomo in the general election.Oddly, Mr. Lazio won the Conservative Party's primary and will appear on the ballot in November. This could be a significant problem for the Conservative Party, which has to get 50,000 votes in the gubernatorial race in order to stay on the ballot.2. Attorney General's RaceEric Schneiderman won the Democratic nomination for AG. This is very bad. He is a pro-abortion, pro-same-sex "marriage" zealot who likes to boast that he used to work as an abortion clinic escort. He will oppose Dan Donovan, the Staten Island DA, who is pro-life.3. US Senate RacesIn the race for the seat held by pro-abortion Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, the Republican nomination was won by Joe DioGuardi, an old pro-lifer who served in Congress many years ago.In the race for pro-abortion Sen. Charles Schumer's seat, the Republican nomination was won by Jay Townsend, a pro-lifer.Sincerely in Christ,Edward T. PLANNED BARRENHOOD
From American Life league:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
10 September 2010
CONTACT: Katie Walker
540.659.4942| [email protected]Planned Parenthood Drastically increases abortions, decreases adoption referrals in 2008
Washington, DC (10 September 2010) – American Life League has revealed that Planned Parenthood Federation of America committed 324,008 abortions in 2008 – a 6.1-percent increase over 2007, reported ALL vice president Jim Sedlak.
The total number of abortions committed by Planned Parenthood since it first began in New York state in 1970 is now 4,987,817.
While abortions are on the rise at Planned Parenthood, adoption referrals declined to just 2,405 – a staggering 51-percent drop since 2007. Thus Planned Parenthood now commits 134 abortions for every adoption referral.
“Keep in mind that Planned Parenthood is a business making a very clear business decision,” said Rita Diller, national director of ALL’s Stop Planned Parenthood International (STOPP) project. “Abortion is its most lucrative ‘service,’ and like all businesses, Planned Parenthood is simply maximizing its profits from its primary moneymaker. This becomes macabre when one stops to consider that Planned Parenthood is in the business of killing preborn children. Each one of those 324,008 abortions took the life of a unique, innocent and unrepeatable human person.”
Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest single abortion provider – committing 26.8 percent of the estimated 1.21 million abortions in the United States in 2008. Planned Parenthood also runs the nation’s largest abortion chain, with over 300 medical and surgical abortion facilities across the country.
Despite the increase in abortion, Planned Parenthood showed a decline in a number of other areas, including a drop of four percent (almost 100,000 visits) in its primary customer base – female birth control customers.
While Planned Parenthood often emphasizes that it is the only provider of health care in many areas of the nation, primary-care patients accounted for only one-tenth of one percent of its business in 2008.
The latest Planned Parenthood data are in keeping with the testimony of former Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson, who has publically testified that Planned Parenthood is intentionally trying to increase its abortion business.
American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death. Citizens! It is becoming more and more vital that values voters exercise their right to vote on Primary and General Election Days. This coming week on Tuesday, September 14, cast your ballot in the Republican and Conservative Party Primary elections!
The Right to Life Party has worked hard to give you the latest and best-possible pro life candidate information. These candidates have been vetted for their pro life values and (hopefully) pro life views once elected. Like all human endeavors this grassroots process is imperfect, but while some candidates disappoint, most do not as they try to incorporate defense of the unborn and understanding of the dignity of all human life (this should be everyone's goal!) into their sworn elected office responsibilities. Think about Mayor Amicone in Yonkers and County Executive Rob Astorino. Where we do not succeed at the polls, we succeed in sharing vital, life-affirming information through participation in the electoral process.
Go to the website above or below; copy and bring into the voting booth for your convenience! Share this information with others who might ask you for candidate voting suggestions.
Call Liz Costanzo 914-478-1189 at Right to Life or call or email the HVCL [email protected] if you have questions or comments.
If you want to help in any way RIGHT NOW, contact Liz. Thanks!

Life Dynamics production -
The reality is that Maafa 21 is a primer on power, corruption and betrayal. Ironically, within days after the first edition of Maafa 21 was released, U.S Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was being interviewed by a reporter for The New York Times and made the following statement when asked about Roe vs. Wade – the decision that legalized abortion: “Frankly, I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don’t want to have too many of.”

Life Options Center has been a dream long-prayed-for by Tony Felicissimo and the Advocates of Life, and made a reality thanks to the Rev. Hassell and the Kingdom Baptist Church. Hassell, Yonkers Mayor Philip Amicone, Father Michael Morrow, Parochial Vicar at St. Eugene's Church in Yonkers, and the dynamic Rebbeca Hodges and Maryl Turchi, Co-Directors of Life Options Center.
