Two Vigils - Rockland County and Yonkers.
From Eileen Peterson in Rockland County... if you can't make the above Vigil
I ask each participant to pray the Novena of Divine Mercy. The Novena is
a powerful intercessory prayer. I propose two intentions. First, pray
that our society will embrace the Gospel of Life. Second, pray for God to
have mercy on our nation. The Novena begins on Good Friday, April 2, and
concludes Divine Mercy Sunday, April 11. Please contact me if you need a
copy of the Novena.
We have been invited to participate in Tagaste Monastery’s (220 Lafayette
Ave, Suffern) Divine Mercy Prayer Service. The service commences at 2:00
P.M. with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, praying the Divine Mercy
Chaplet at 3:00 P.M. and concludes with refreshments at 5:00 P.M.
Tony Felicissimo of Advocates of Life in Yonkers reminds us...
The Lord continues to be crucified in the death of his little ones and the exploitation of their parents. Can you join us at the modern day Calvary - the Yonkers Planned Parenthood at 20 S. Broadway - beginning at 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 a.m. on GOOD FRIDAY- or any amount you can spend during that time? Most church services begin at 3 so there will be time to liturgically participate in the Lord's Passion and Death.
If you can attend the prayer vigil outside Planned Parenthood please let me know by calling 914-815-3009. We will have a least a few out there - we can use more. We will also be holding a large cross with a red cloth on it to give PUBLIC witness to the Lord's suffering.
Lastly in Manhattan -
Pax Christi Metro NY's 28th Annual Good Friday Way of the Cross: Once again we will walk with Jesus on His Way of the Cross, mourning His suffering and praying for those around the world who continue to suffer from illness, discrimination, poverty, hunger, torture, war, and all forms of violence. We begin at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza, 47th Street between First and Second Avenues, at 8:30 AM on April 2nd, 2010. Wear or carry a cross. No other signs, please. Go to www.nypaxchristi.org or contact Tom Faranda 271-4598.
Friday afternoon at 12 Noon pro-LIFE Catholics remembered the passion and death of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We began with eleven people praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet and recited the Stations of the Cross for the Victims of Abortion.
By the time we finished the hour, we had thirteen people standing for LIFE!
Every hour on the hour for the next 24 hours people will come and pray Planned Parenthood away from our community and our children.
Purity Matters.
Happy Easter!
For Life,
Eileen Peterson
