The Honorable Gordon A. Burrows was our sponsor again this year with our thanks. Gordon represents District 15 at the Westchester County Board of Legislators.

 

Our 2009 honoree is Theresa Bonopartis, Director of Lumina Hope and Healing After Abortion, the post abortion healing arm of Good Counsel Homes. Here she is with Regina, Brigid and WEDR Committee member Judy Anderson.

Brigid Faranda did double duty and presented Theresa with the Mott-Stanton-Anthony Award.

In recognition of the humble and unselfish sharing of her personal story of loss, forgiveness and mercy and her tireless professional dedication on behalf of post abortive women and men. Her compassionate outreach and advocacy exemplify a profound spiritual energy that touches those who suffer, and inspires all that hear her speak.

In recognition of her courage in emulating the pro-life values and the ideals of Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Susan B. Anthony, champions of the inherent dignity of human life and of equal rights for women.

Presented on this seventh day of August, in the year two thousand and nine, A.D.

Attending the WEDR ceremony celebrating 89 years of women's voting rights was previous honoree and good friend, Christine Mortell Plazas.

Author Susan Konig, our keynote speaker four years ago (can't be that long!) was another welcomed attendee. She is a current candidate for the Westchester County Board of Legislators' District 9. Good to see you, Susan! Thanks for your run for County public service!

Also with us was long-time supporter of WEDR and pro life activist Patricia Vasta, pictured on the right. Sorry for our shakey cameraman, Pat!

Alan Mehldau of the No. Westchester & Putnam Center for Life, Richard Brand and Richard Fuerst have been generous helpers and annual supporters of WEDR.
