We posted a few days ago about this - LifeNet: Local Congressman John Hall ducking the healthcare issue
Here's more -
Today's op ed went into some detail about Mr. Hall's no-show on healthcare -
Hall reluctant to meet with constituents on health care | LoHud.com | The Journal News
The point of this recollection is simple: Mr. Hall has repeatedly attempted to avoid public exposure to his position on the congressional health-care issue, at all cost. He does not respond to e-mails and phone calls. His Web site posts his visits and availability with less than 24-hours' notice. He doesn't even provide a local phone number for his Westchester constituents.
When I arrived the next morning for his health care walk around Mount Kisco, only four constituents showed up - it had only been posted on his Web site the night before. In the meantime, he has given plenty of time and notice for the following event, which was e-mailed on Aug. 18 to select supporters:
"On Saturday, September 5th my friend and colleague, singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett, along with his Coral Reefer Band will be performing at the beautiful Nissan Pavilion at Stone Ridge, VA, just outside of Washington D.C.
"Jimmy, who is currently traveling cross-country on his âSummerzcool' tour, has been kind enough to reserve some of the best seats near the stage for our guests, and always puts on a great show.
"This is not your typical Labor Day weekend getaway, this is the perfect end-of-summer concert. We only have 6 pairs of tickets left, and time is running out for this once-in-a-lifetime event. Please make a donation of at least $1,000 per seat, or $1,500 per couple, to my campaign by calling ....
Jimmy Buffett?
Hall responded late this afternoon to the Journal News column. He sent around an email, which he posted on his website - What you`ve told me about health care. Hit the link to see his posturing - almost whining.
Meanwhile, here's today's coverage of potential opponent Greg Ball's Town Hall meeting, attended by 400 - Reform plan assailed at Ball health forum | LoHud.com | The Journal News
