We just got a call that one of the "vital" pieces of legislation that Albany will deal with today is the same-sex "marriage" bill.
Please, even if you have already contacted your State Senator - ours is Vincent Leibell - do so again and reiterate your concerns. This piece of legislation will attempt to dictate to the majority on a matter that could be handled via domestic partnership laws, without attempting to change the institution of marriage from one man and one woman. Marriage as it exists serves society as a whole and benefits children across cultures and around the world for thousands of years and exists as such for reasons that demand our understanding and our support.
