New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer Resigns But David Paterson Backs Abortion
And this is from Ed Mechman in the Archdiocese family life office:
We need to be clear about David Paterson, our new governor, and
> where he stands.
>
> When he was in the State Senate, he voted against or sponsored
> bills against the Church's position on:
>
> Partial Birth Abortion Ban
> Unborn Victims of Violence Act
> Limits on Medicaid Funding for Abortion
> Parental Notification
> Embryonic Stem Cell Research
> False Cloning Ban
> Emergency Contraception
> Forcing Employers to Cover Contraceptives in Health Insurance
> Clinic Access Bill (restricting pro-life protests at abortion clinics)
> No-Fault Divorce
> "Gay Rights" (including "transgender" rights)
>
> According to the New York Sun, he also supports same-sex
> marriage and the Reproductive Health and Privacy Protection Act.
> He has been a prime mover in Governor Spitzer's stem cell
> research initiative, which will spend hundreds of millions of
> dollars, primarily on embryonic stem cell research.
>
> Gay rights groups consider him a strong ally:

We must pray for this man who suffers from spiritual blindness. Please pray that God opens his eyes and that he is able to see the gift of creation. We must be more vigilant in calling our Assembly and Senate representatives. Now is the time for all Catholic voters to be united in one cause: To Protect the Most Vulnerable Amony Us- The Unborn.
