The day will not be boring for pro-lifers on February 5, when Republican and Democrat Party voters cast primary ballots for Presidential favorites.
Clinton and Obama, running in a dead statistical heat for the Democrats, compete with each other for the worst pro-life record and philosophy. From a life perspective both these horses are dead on arrival, so an easy call for most pro-lifers. The voting preferences of Democrats for Life (marginalized in the Democrat Party and not yet embraced by some pro-lifers) remain to be seen and counted on this one.
Romney, McCain, and Huckabee all call themselves pro-life. However, McCain supports "after careful consideration" embryonic stem cell research on supposed "surplus" (!?) embryos, and he authored McCain- Feingold that had negative impact on pro-life political speech. Mitt Romney is defending his move to inclusive pro-life views, but some question the authenticity of his current stance for life, ignoring his across-the board strong conservative views. Running a distant third, Huckabee's pro-life record is undeniably out there, but some see his remaining in the race at this point a personal attack against Romney. Some suggest he is positioning of himself to be embraced by McCain, the "reported" front-runner before today's voting, and favorite of just about every liberal-minded entity out there from Hollywood to Mars, including The New York Times. Their editorial anti pro-life views are the stuff of legend in any galaxy. Republicans (?) Schwarzenegger and Pataki most recently on board for McCain. 'Nuf said.
Say a prayer! Get out and vote! Every voice should be heard, especially in primary voting for the Presidency. We are, after all, the voice of the unborn in all seasons.
A reminder to couch potato "independents" and "moderates" for this November: There is no such thing as a moderate abortion, only independent death certificates.
Mitt Romney says embryos should be adopted but if they are not then it is ok to kill them for medical research.
The only difference between them is Mitt used to vote pro-abort and McCain has always voted pro-life.
