As he stated in his gubernatorial inaugural speech, Governor Spitzer has just proposed in the new State budget to establish a quasi-governmental corporation to promote stem cell research and other new technologies. The budget designates at least $100 million for embryonic stem cell research/cloning with the promise of another $500 million next year.
The budget also proposes that voters be presented with a bond act of $1.5 billion in November 2008, $750 million of which would go to stem cell research and cloning.
The proposal for taxpayers in NY to fund cloning and embryo harvesting is gross, immoral and unethical.
An excellent opportunity to provide yourself and other people with education in this area will be held next Saturday at Holy Innocents Church in Manhattan.
